JAKARTA—Indonesian supplier PT Kirana Megatara Tbk (KM) has reported the "successful shipment" of European Union Deforestation Regulation-compliant natural rubber to Europe.
The inaugural shipment of standard Indonesian rubber was sent to the European market on May 31 from PT New Kalbar Processors, in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, KM reported June 12.
The move "signifies the company's readiness to meet demanding EUDR requirements," KM said, noting that 13 of its 14 factories are now producing compliant products.
KM added that it is set to complete its "comprehensive" compliance strategy, with the 14th factory scheduled to commence shipments by July.
"By aligning production practices with environmental responsibility, KM said it had "enhanced its global competitiveness (and) contributed positively to the broader sustainability agenda."
