MODENA, Italy—Huntsman Corp. is adding to its sustainable hot cast elastomer portfolio with a new bolt-on dosing system that adds recyclates into a custom mix.
Known as Castech, the dosing system can be used in conjunction with Castech machines to engineer polyurethane elastomer systems with up to 25 percent recycled material (by weight).
"Offering the highest levels of accuracy and flexibility, our Castech machines are among the most advanced equipment options available for the efficient manufacture of elastomers," said Andrea Ghermandi, business development manager. "Featuring a range of interchangeable parts, these machines are fully flexible and can be tailor-made to suit customers' requirements.
"Now, with the launch of our filler dosing system, component manufacturers have even more choice at their fingertips."
The new filler dosing system can be bolted on to Huntsman machines produced after 2018.
Customers can add fillers of recycled rubber, solid PU and TPU, as well as fibers. Recyclates can vary in density and size.
