Hankook said that since suppliers and service providers in the auto industry process sensitive customer information, data protection and privacy is growing more critical. With that in mind, Hankook said that 10 of its business locations have obtained the TISAX label, including Hankook Tire's headquarters and plants located in South Korea, China and Europe as well as its research and development center, Hankook Technodome.
Hankook called the TISAX audit process "comprehensive and specific." A company's information security management system is inspected over a period of time and must go through on-site due diligence checks.
Organizations must meet the requirements in four areas: Information security, connections to third parties, data protection and prototype protection.
Hankook Tire President and CEO Sooil Lee said accreditation "attests to Hankook's dedication to furthering information protection management that is becoming important in the automobile industry."
"With our systematic and professional information security system that meets the demand of global auto makers' strict standards, Hankook will continue to be a reliable business partner and a global top-tier player with robust and consistent information security on top of its R&D capabilities," he said.
