DALLAS — Goodyear, Group Michelin and Bridgestone Corp. are among the best companies for social impact, according to research conducted by HundredX Inc. and Forbes Inc.
Goodyear was the highest ranking tire company, at No. 38, in the 2024 Best Brands for Social Impact list compiled by Forbes and HundredX, a self-described "misson-based data and insights company."
The second annual list recognizes the top 300 brands for social impact, according to HundredX, based on more than 4 million pieces of consumer feedback on 3,000 business during the past year.
REI (Recreational Equipment Inc.), an American retail and outdoor recreation services corporation, was ranked first, followed by Subaru Corp.; H-E-B Grocery Co. L.P.; Sony Playstation, under Sony Group Corp.; and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
Group Michelin was ranked No. 49, while Bridgestone Corp. was No. 60.
Discount Tire/America's Tire was the only other tire-related company to make the list, at No. 190.
According to HundredX, consumer purchase decisions are impacted by a company's values, social responsibility and environmental initiatives. The report reveals top companies doing well at doing good, HundredX said.
The survey analyzes more than 80 industries, ranking companies based on overall brand values and trust, social stances, sustainability and community support.
"The Social Impact list rankings sheds light on an increasingly debated business topic: the role of the modern corporation in society," HundredX Founder and CEO Rob Pace said.
"Businesses that made this year's list excel at integrating their social impact within their businesses, and standing out from competitors by understanding what actual customers value when making purchasing decisions."
Auto parts stores to make the list include NAPA Auto Parts,156; AutoZone, 178; O'Reilly Auto Parts, 199; and Advance Auto Parts, 228.
Auto makers listed were Toyota, 17; Mercedes, 22; Lexus, 23; Honda, 25; BMW, 35; Acura, 56; Audi, 57; Cadillac, 77; Chevrolet, 82; Jeep, 104; Dodge, 106; Ram, 118; Ford 120; GMC, 129; Volkswagen, 137; Nissan, 133; and Mazda 189.
Other Forbes' lists, in collaboration with HundredX include Best Customer Service and Customer Experience All-Stars.
The Best Brands for Social Impact rankings examine the alignment of a brand's values and mission from the eyes of the customer. Consumers provide feedback within the following categories: Overall brand values & trust; social stance; sustainability; and community support
HundredX said its feedback generates funding for more than a thousand cause-related organizations while providing businesses and investors with feedback and perspectives from consumers.
