NUREMBERG, Germany—The German Federal Cartel Office is investigating various cable manufactures and other industry-related companies.
Leoni A.G., among other manufacturers, said in a Jan. 18 statement that it was audited for suspicions that they "could have coordinated the calculations of industry-standard metal surcharge in Germany."
Separate statements by cable manufacturers, Leoni, NKT and Nexans confirmed that sites in Germany are being searched as part of the price-fixing investigation.
"Leoni A.G. informs that…(it) is cooperating with the authorities and will investigate the allegations," the automotive supplier said.
Danish manufacturer NKT also reported on Jan. 20 that searches were being carried out at its two main German sites and that it was cooperating with the authorities.
French cables and optical fiber specialist Nexans also issued a similar statement on Jan. 20, saying two of its sites were being searched in Germany.
