TOKYO—Denka Corp. is investigating a fatal accident at its chloroprene rubber production plant in Omi, Japan, last month.
The company formed an investigation committee that will establish the cause of a pipe burst at the facility on June 14. The accident resulted in the death of one person and injury of two others.
In a statement July 11, the Japan-based group said it is fully cooperating with the committee, which also includes outside experts and "relevant authorities."
The group added that it also has conducted an internal investigation into the incident.
In addition to Denka officials, the committee includes representatives from the local technical safety office, human resource experts and university professors.
Denka said it will disclose the findings of the committee as soon as a report is finalized.
