Rubber Division, University of Akron partner for continuing ed credits

AKRON—All the time you spend learning more about the rubber industry should count for something.

The ACS Rubber Division is making sure it does.

The Rubber Division has partnered with the University of Akron to provide continuing education credits on Rubber Division courses. The credits, or continuing education units, also are offered on basic, intermediate and advanced rubber technology self-paced learning opportunities. The CEUs can assist in maintaining certifications and licenses.

"Developing a new way to support the professional development of those working in our industry is an exciting achievement for us," the Rubber Division said. "We are proud to continue strengthening our value to professionals and companies in our great industry."

Upcoming February courses include:

• Feb. 2—Rubber Explained
• Feb. 9—Basic Rubber Compounding
• Feb. 11—Elastomers for Selective Gas Separation, including Carbon Capture
• Feb. 16 —Introduction to Compounding, Mixing & Testing
• Feb. 22—Setting Up a Rubber Molding Process
• Feb. 23—Mixing & Testing for Compound Consistency

The Rubber Division also has scheduled a webinar for Feb. 28 titled "Utilizing Lab Equipment for Efficient Development & Problem Solving." Webinars are free for Rubber Division members.
