FORT MILL, S.C.—As Continental Tire the Americas L.L.C. pursues a greater share of the North American retread market, the tire maker is adding to its portfolio.
The company Jan. 6 released a new fuel-efficient trailer retread, the ContiTread HT for the U.S. market. The new tread features increased durability for high scrub situations thanks to an enhanced shoulder design.
ContiTread HT's tread pattern is designed for extended mileage and superb rolling resistance—as much as a 20 percent improvement, Continental claims. Further ,the retread meets the SmartWay regulations for retread products.
"We are excited to introduce the ContiTread HT our latest fuel-efficient retread," said Shaun Uys, head of Continental's truck tire replacement business in the U.S. "The innovative retread enhances fuel efficiency, high scrub and offers durability."
