NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone and the United Way of Greater Nashville have made great fundraising strides through their "United by What Really Matters" joint fundraising campaign.
This year, the campaign raised over $2.4 million for the United Way's various programs around the Nashville area, tying its number from 2023 and raising the number from 2022. Sara Correa, chief marketing officer of Bridgestone Americas, said that, in addition to monetary donations, the company also volunteered 500 hours for the United Way.
"What really matters is helping empower our teammates to make a transformative difference in the communities where we move, live, work and play," Correa said. "That's why United Way is one of Bridgestone's most important and valued partners. We are grateful for the generosity of our teammates and partners who continue to show up for our neighbors when they need it most by supporting United Way's critical work."
Since 2015, Bridgestone has raised over $15 million for United Way of Greater Nashville, the company said. The fundraiser also supports Bridgestone's E8 Commitment, she said, which focuses on sustainability inside and outside the company.
Erica Mitchell, CEO-Elect of United Way of Greater Nashville, said that the United Way is "incredibly grateful" to the tire maker for its continued support. The company's volunteer hours resulted in an increase in hygiene kits, food sorting, community gardens and more.
"Their generous contributions and dedicated partnership have made a profound impact on our region, helping us unite the community and mobilize resources so that every child, individual and family thrives," Mitchell said of Bridgestone. "Together, we are creating lasting change, and we look forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration."
