NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas Inc. has received recognition once again from the Women In Trucking Association. The tire and rubber company was named a "Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation" for the third year in a row, WIT said in an Oct. 31 news release.
The annual award is given by WIT's Redefining the Road magazine, which the association said "promotes the accomplishments of companies focused on women's employment in the trucking industry."
A vote of over 31,000 rubber industry professionals chose Bridgestone on a variety of criteria, including career advancement opportunities for women and fostering gender diversity in corporate culture.
Emily Poladian, Bridgestone's president of mobility solutions for Americas sales and customer success, said the company is proud of the work it has done to continually foster gender inclusivity in the workplace.
"It's a privilege," Poladian said, "to work for an organization that champions representation and shows young women just starting their careers that this is an industry where they belong, something that I hope will be the norm for more and more companies."
WIT also named Bridgestone employees Debra Hamlin, Megan Miller, and Samantha McCracken to their 2024 Top Women to Watch in Transportation list, citing exceptional business contributions by each.
Representatives from Bridgestone will receive the award at WIT's Accelerate! Conference and Expo on November 11 in Dallas.
