TOKYO—Asahi Kasei is revising up synthetic rubber prices amid increasing costs of materials and production, the Japan-based group announced May 15.
Effective June 1, butadiene rubber and styrene butadiene rubber (oil extended, non-oil extended) will see price increases of "Yen 45/kg or more" ( $0.29/kg).
In addition to last year's rises in costs of raw materials and auxiliary materials, the producer is now facing "significant increases in repair, labor, and logistics costs due to global inflation," Asahi Kasei said
"Under these circumstances, it has become difficult for our company to absorb the increased costs through our own efforts alone," the company added.
