INDIANAPOLIS—In the world of workplace best practices, safety is perhaps the most noble topic to share—because everyone wins.
And the Association for Rubber Product Manufacturers and the Manufacturers Association for Plastics Processors understand this completely.
Each year at the Environmental, Health and Safety Summit, the organizations serve up their safety awards in two categories: Safety Achievement Awards and Safety Best Practices Awards.
This year's awards ceremony took place in Indianapolis Sept. 8.
In the achievement category, companies submit their OSHA-300 log of work-related injuries and illnesses, and ARPM and MAPP use a formula to calculate the incident rate.
Gold Achievement Awards are indicative of no occupational injuries or illnesses. The silver category recognizes no occupational injuries or illnesses involving lost work days, and honorable mention awards worksites with the lowest incident rates, based on the total number of employees.
