THE HAGUE, Netherlands—Dutch-based synthetic rubber major Arlanxeo strongly rejects an accusation of IP infringement leveled against it by Japanese competitor Zeon Corp.
In an Aug. 22 written statement to European Rubber Journal, the Saudi Aramco-owned supplier said it was aware of the allegation that Arlanxeo Deutschland GmbH had infringed on a German patent owned by Zeon.
"Arlanxeo manufactures and sells synthetic rubber in full compliance with applicable laws, denies any such infringement, and intends to defend itself vigorously in court," the company said.
On Aug. 21, Zeon announced that it had filed a lawsuit against Arlanxeo over an alleged infringement of Zeon's German patent on lithium-ion battery materials.
The Aug. 9 complaint, said Zeon, "seeks an injunction against further infringement as well as compensation for damages related to Arlanxeo's manufacture and sale of the relevant products in Germany."
