SHANGHAI—Ask Sailun Tire Americas about the potential of Liquid Mixing Technology, and the tire maker will be proud to expound.
When applied to its tire manufacturing process, the technology—dubbed EcoPoint3—takes Sailun's tire performance further by balancing rolling resistance, wet braking and wear. They're performance characteristics that give Sailun the ability to bring to market EV tires with performances that it says rival the biggest names in tires.
And it's technology that electric vehicles need.
But what if the technology could go further? What if it could broaden its scope across the tire and rubber industries?
That's exactly what Ecombine Advanced Materials Co. Ltd., EVE Rubber Institute and Arlanxeo intend to find out. The three, March 10, formed a strategic partnership dedicated to exploring the applications of Liquid Mixing Technology. Particularly, the trio will look at potential downstream applications and market development for BIIR, SSBR, EPDM and CR rubber products.
And when it comes to doing that, each of the partners bring experience, expertise and unique perspectives to the table.
Take, Arlanxeo. The performance elastomer company headquartered in Changzhou, China, brings a wealth of R&D technology built around automotive components such as tires. Its focus remains on improving performance, durability and environmental benefits under extreme conditions.
Ecombine, meanwhile, "has also achieved low-carbon, energy-saving, and emissions reduction throughout the life cycle from raw materials selection, production and manufacturing to product application and reuse through the industrialization of Liquid-phase Mixing Technology, which is of great significance for promoting the green transformation of the industry," a news release about the strategic partnership said.
