WESTLAND, Mich.—APS Elastomers is expanding its portfolio by partnering with Epaflex Polyurethanes S.P.A. The thermoplastic elastomers supplier will work with the Italian-based thermoplastic polyurethanes manufacturer to include the extrusion-based series, Epaline TPUs.
This will allow APS to "significantly expand its offering of TPUs," Westland, Mich.-based APS said in a statement.
"Our steady volume increase over the past few years was the impetus for us to partner with Epaflex in order to handle our substantial growth in extrusion applications," APS Principal Stephane Morin said.
The Epaline 700 series TPUs offer superior physical and mechanical properties, resistance to hydrolysis and microbial attack, and guarantee flexibility even at low temperatures, according to APS.
The company added that Epaflex's production technology offers batch-to-batch reproducibility, which allows for "highly accurate MFI/MVR range."
