    Anthony Mariniello

    Anthony Mariniello kicked off his year as the 2023 chair of the ACS Rubber Division on Jan. 1 with the theme: "Rubber Division, ACS: The Premier Resource for All."

    After serving the organization through his involvement on several committees, Mariniello was elected as secretary in 2019 and successfully moved through the established progression to serve as chair in 2023, according to a recent Rubber Division press release.

    The board of directors—made up of members of the executive committee, area directors, and select committee chairs and affiliated partners as non-voting members—is responsible for the Rubber Division's governance.

    As chair, Mariniello will be responsible for maintaining the overall well-being of the division, helping set its strategic direction and officiating at executive committee and board functions, as well as performing several other duties required of this position.

      This includes an emphasis on efforts and initiatives that align with the group's strategic plan, with focus on the following:

      • Engaging with young professionals in the industry and continuing to expand the division's outreach to this demographic to increase awareness of the industry;
      • Revitalizing volunteerism within the division to get more professionals involved;
      • Leveraging the resources with ACS and partners to gain more engagement from the academic community regarding membership and increasing the division's variety of programming; and
      • Building upon the value of the International Elastomer Conference provides by continuing to try new things to benefit the varied sectors of the industry.
