Ann Wilson to retire, takes new role with MEMA for now

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—Ann Wilson, who has advocated for MEMA, the Vehicle Suppliers Association, on Capitol Hill for more than two decades, will retire at the end of 2024.

Wilson, a member of the Automotive Hall of Fame, will be replaced by Ana Meuwissen, who has led government affairs for Bosch in the U.S. since 2012.

"For more than 20 years, Ann Wilson has been a guiding light, expertly navigating the legislative and regulatory landscapes," commented Bill Long, CEO of MEMA. "Her deep understanding of the needs of the vehicle supplier community and her exceptional leadership have left an indelible mark on MEMA and the entire supplier industry.

"We are deeply grateful to Ann for her service."

Effective Jan. 12, Wilson took the role of executive vice president, MEMA Government Affairs.

Meuwissen officially joins MEMA March 11 as senior vice president, MEMA Government Affairs.

The moves at the top are part of "key organizational changes," the group said Jan. 12, as MEMA looks to a future of new mobility and related infrastructure.

Prior to her work at Bosch, Meuwissen served as a senior policy adviser at the law firm Nelson Mullins in Washington, D.C.

She is a former chair of MEMA's Government Affairs Committee and is the current chair of the Government Affairs Advisory Committee of the MEMA Board of Directors.

"Ana Meuwissen's return to MEMA is a significant gain for our organization," Long said. "Her profound understanding of industry policies, her proactive approach and her proven leadership skills make her the ideal successor to carry forward Ann's legacy."

MEMA is a trade association in North America for vehicle suppliers, parts manufacturers and remanufacturers.

Companies can join MEMA through MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers; and MEMA Original Equipment Suppliers.

Automotive and commercial vehicle suppliers represent the largest manufacturing markets in the country.

The organization has offices in Southfield, Mich.; Research Triangle Park, N.C.; and Washington, D.C.
