CHICAGO—The Power Transmission Distributors Association has added Nelson Electric Motors of Opelika, Ala., to its membership.
Nelson Electric, founded in 1968 in Alexander City, Ala., works in electro-mechanical repairs and predictive maintenance of electric motors, generators, gearsets and pumps.
"We believe in the value of personal relationships with both customers and industry leaders and joined PTDA to build those powerful relationships," said John Langford, corporate buyer for bearing and power transmission sales with Nelson.
The company expanded in 2002 and again in 2013, and offers has both in-shop and field service.
Nelson also offers machining and mill work and new equipment sales.
The PTDA, based in Chicago, represents the power transmission and motion control distribution channel. PTDA firms generate more than $19 billion in sales and span more than 2,500 locations.
