NEWMARKET, Ontario—AirBoss Manufactured Products (AMP) and its AirBoss Defense Group (ADG) business unit received a new contract from the U.S. government, its first in 2025 following a busy 2024.
The new contract calls for indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity of the ADG Molded AirBoss Lightweight Overboot (MALO), and is worth up to $82.3 million according to the company. The boot is made from bromobutyl rubber, the company said, adding that it provides over 24 hours of protection from toxic chemicals.
Deliveries under the new contract are expected to begin during Q2 2025, AirBoss officials said.
"The company held the current contract for this requirement and is pleased to have again been selected as the supplier of choice for this critical personal protective equipment," AirBoss said. "The MALO was designed to provide superior protection against chemical and biological threats while providing optimal fit and comfort."
Chris Bitsakakis, AirBoss president and co-CEO, said that the contract is indicative of ADG's "continued positive momentum" in the realm of defense products. The overboot model also serves United Kingdom and Canadian military forces, according to the AirBoss website.
"The defense business remains committed to delivering protective and survivability solutions to our customers," Bitsakakis said. "We look forward to continuing to provide these products to ensure the safety of warfighters operating in challenging environments and conditions."
AirBoss has supplied boots to the U.S. government for more than 20 years, the company said. Outside of the U.S., its products are sold in over 60 countries, having sold 6.1 million parts to date as of January 2025.
