NEWMARKET, Ontario—AirBoss of America Corp. has landed a contract with the federal government for personal protective equipment worth up to $84 million.
Specifically, the contract for protective isolation gowns is between AirBoss Defense Group, a defense and survivability solutions provider of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) products, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response.
"We believe that our track record in delivering critical medical equipment and supplies during the most challenging of times, has once again put us in a position to partner with HHS to supply a critical need," said Gren Schoch, chairman and co-CEO of AirBoss. "AirBoss Defense Group has continually demonstrated strength as a domestic supplier of personal protective equipment designed to protect health care workers, first responders and military personnel against communicable diseases and CBRNE threats."
According to AirBoss, the contract base and option periods are funded at $59 million, with a surge amount valued at up to $25 million. Deliveries of the isolation gowns will begin in the fourth quarter of this year and stretch through 2026.
"Our experience as a survivability solutions provider with global supply chain, and logistics management and decades-long experience in providing PPE to government agencies, will continue to enable AirBoss to support urgent needs across many of our product lines," Schoch said.
The isolation gowns are being produced for the U.S. Strategic National Stockpile, a cache of supplies, medicine and devices for lifesaving care in a national emergency.
