ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Economic uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic continues to thwart the conference plans of major industry associations. The Adhesive and Sealant Council has decided to move its 10th annual World Adhesive and Sealant Conference to April 25-27, 2022.
The ASC will host a fall convention in 2021, with the location and dates to be announced, according to the ASC.
"For WAC to be successful for the global adhesive and sealant community for which it is held, ASC, as host, must ensure it is scheduled at a time most suitable for its international attendees," ASC President Bill Allmond said in Dec. 3 statement. "Uncertainty about the economy and the health crisis remains a concern through mid-2021. Therefore, with strong support from our Asian and European partners, we decided that the responsible decision was to move WAC to 2022."
The World Adhesive and Sealant Conference had been set for April 19-21, 2021. The April 25-27, 2022, location will remain the Hilton Chicago in downtown Chicago, according to the ASC.
The ASC also said it will host a technical short course at the fall 2021 convention and expo.
"We are optimistic that by the fourth quarter of 2021, health and economic conditions domestically will be much improved, enabling ASC to safely and successfully host virtual and in-person attendance at our convention and expo," Allmond said.
Allmond said there will be a leadership conference the same week as the convention and expo.
Details with dates and times for the convention and expo will be available at ascouncil.org.
