ST. LOUIS—Accella Tire Fill Systems, manufacturer of the environmentally friendly TyrFil foam flatproofing fill for industry off-the-road tires, has renewed its partnership with conservation group American Forests to replant and reforest the Rio Grande Valley forest region in Texas.

Accella said it is continuing its "One Tote, One Tree" program, which funds the supply, planting and nurturing of seedlings to expand and rejuvenate U.S. forest land.

Through the program, Accella uses its OEM and dealer network to allot one forest seedling for the purchase of every "tote" of TyrFil, the company said.

The latest partnership between Accella and American Forests involves an area of Texas' Lower Rio Grande Valley, a once healthy native thornscrub forest that is only a fraction of its former size, Accella said.

The Lower Rio Grande River Valley supports more than 500 species of songbirds, 300 species of butterflies and endangered species such as the small wildcat ocelot, it said.

"This type of responsible support often offers the last line of support to the sustainability of these invaluable habitats, which have been disappearing at an alarming and critical rate," said Jad Daley, president and CEO of American Forests.

Part of Carlisle Companies L.L.C., Accella has manufactured TyrFil since 1971. American Forests is the oldest national conservation organization in the U.S., and has planted more than 60 million trees in rural and urban areas since its founding in 1875, according to its website.
