Manufactured in the Black Forest region of Germany, NELA’s machine is typically used for small rubber parts under four inches in diameter, such as O-rings and seals, Barton said. CLEVELAND—Perhaps the 2019 International Elastomer Conference can be summed up in one word: opportunity.

Throughout the second day of the ACS Rubber Division event, hosted Oct. 8-10 at Cleveland's Huntington Convention Center, opportunities were abundant for industry professionals and students looking to expand their growth opportunities.

Attendees heard about some of the latest industry trends through technical paper presentations and explored some of the latest technologies on the expo floor. The second of two Get Involved! sessions, which challenged those new to the Rubber Division to seek leadership and volunteer opportunities, was held along with a special young professionals meeting.

Meanwhile, those who have served in the industry for 25 years or more gathered for the annual 25 Year Club luncheon.

The conference and expo wrap up at 3 p.m. Oct. 10, following the business and awards meeting.
