BIRMINGHAM, England—Nova-BioRubber Green Technologies the Surrey, B.C.-based developer of rubber and other products from Taraxacum kok-saghyz (TKS) dandelions, has won the Materials Innovation Award in this year's Medilink U.K. Healthcare Business Awards.
According to Medilink U.K., Nova-BioRubber won the prize in recognition of its green processing technologies for the production of hypoallergenic and sustainable biolatex, biorubber and inulin.
"Judges said that the material could help deal with a significant problem in the healthcare world, and that a hypoallergenic and sustainable biolatex could make a huge positive impact in the industry," Medilink U.K. said in a press release.
Anvar Buranov, president and CEO of Nova-BioRubber, accepted the award at a ceremony at the Med-Tech Innovation Expo in Birmingham.
According to the press release, Medilink U.K. is the United Kingdom's largest network of life science and health technology organizations, with more than 1,600 members.
Its annual Healthcare Business Awards celebrate the business achievements, international successes and innovative breakthroughs made in the life sciences and healthcare technology sectors.
