Focusing on North America, Parker-Hannifin once again stood alone at the top of the rankings, as it was the only company estimated to post $1 billion or more in hose sales on the continent for 2023.
Danfoss and Gates were joined by Continental A.G.'s ContiTech USA Inc. business.
ContiTech broke ground in late January on a $90 million hydraulic hose factory in Mexico. That project increased in scope after ContiTech realigned its operations away from being product-focused to being broken into three geographic regions: Industrial Solutions Americas, Industrial Solutions EMEA (Europe and the Middle East), and Industrial Solutions APAC (Asia and Pacific).
The Continental unit has long been a leader in industrial hose, saying its Mexican plant will help it draw closer to the leaders in the hydraulic hose sector. Company officials said the project will double its capacity in this field, and address the needs of current and new customers in multiple industries.
Following those three is a group of eight firms with estimated North American hose sales of from $100 million to $499 million for last year. Several of those, like Gates, are players in the automotive hose sector, including Cooper-Standard, Sumitomo Riko Co. Ltd., Hutchinson North America, Park-Ohio Holdings Corp. and Flexfab Horizons International Inc.
Five companies had estimated 2023 hose revenues on the continent of $50 million to $99 million, three were ranked at $20 million to $49 million, two at $11 million to $19 million and two from $5 million to $10 million.
The rankings figures came from company annual reports, public and industry data, and company surveys.
