PTDA readies for upcoming Canadian Conference

CHICAGO, Ill.—The Power Transmission Distributors Association will host the upcoming 2023 Canadian Conference, set for June 6-8 in Ottawa, Ontario.

Representatives from PTDA distribution and manufacturing companies will be present to network, hear valuable insights from industry experts and expand business relationships. Registration information can be found here.

One of the highlights of the conference is the DM-IDEX, or distributor-manufacturer idea exchange, which will take place over two days and include short and long meetings (a deeper dive on market strategies and issues).

• Jeremy Bess, economist from ITR Economics, who will speak on "Gauging the Risks Going Forward Into 2023−2024" in the conference keynote address. ITR Economics is an annual presenter and offers the PTDA Market Forecast Report. Bess will speak specifically on Canada's economic trends.

• The PT Work Force Initiative (established by the PTDA Foundation) will host attorney and motivational speaker Lesra Martin. Martin will present, "The Global Power of One: Empowering Change, Strength in Diversity Through Adversity." Martin will discuss unfamiliar terrain, such as creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive work environment.

• Lee-Anne McAlear, Fortune 500 innovation specialist, will present "Leading in the 'Now' and Getting Ready for the 'Next'!" This will be the Leadership Enhancement Workshop. McAlear offers participants ways to support and stimulate employees' creative behaviors and innovative outputs.

• The Canadian Conference will close with keynote speaker Amie Archibald-Varley, an RN and director of multimedia at CanadiEM. Her presentation is titled, "Transforming Your Teams with Compassion & Empathy."
