Gates launches new high-pressure hose line

DENVER—Gates Corp. has introduced a new flexible, high-pressure hose, one that employs better ergonomics and, ultimately, greater safety for the user.

The new product, known as Clean Master Plus Pressure Wash Hose, was developed with the demanding industrial market in mind, according to the fluid power and transmission company.

"We know industrial cleaning is a tough job, and (we) designed Clean Master Plus to last longer, operate at higher pressures, and be easier to use," said Tom Pitstick, president APAC and global strategy at Gates. "This hose platform leverages the latest in our advanced materials and wire reinforcement technology to withstand the toughest conditions in construction, marine, general manufacturing, public works, mining and commercial property maintenance applications, to name a few."

The new hose platform operates at extremely high pressures, up to 6,000 pounds per square inch, according to Gates.

Employing "next generation hose construction," Gates said the hose line is 22 percent lighter and 50 percent more flexible than existing 6,000-psi hoses.

And its ergonomic design prevents some worker fatigue.

"Gates has a long history of innovating and pushing boundaries to engineer products that exceed our customers' expectations," Pitstick said.

According to Gates, Clean Master Plus is REACH compliant; has "exceptional maneuverability" on rough surfaces; maintains a compact design; and is compatible with Gates' couplings and crimpers.

The design of the new hose line was made possible by Gates' "Eco-Innovation" program, which views entire design processes through the lens of environmental impacts, through a product's entire life cycle.
