GRANBY, Quebec—Continental A.G.'s industrial hose plant in Granby has received a major sanitary standards certification from the independent U.S. organization 3-A SSI for a selected range of food and beverage hoses.
Certification No. 3727 and designation 18-03 (for rubber and rubber-like materials) from 3-A SSI places the Granby plant in a unique category, according to Laszlo Dobo, Conti product manager for industry hoses in North America.
"There is a distinct difference between compliance and certification," Dobo said in a statment. "Anyone can claim compliance, but certification comes only from an independent organization."
McLean, Va.-based 3-A SSI is an independent, non-profit organization that leads development of standards for equipment and accepted practices for processing systems through a modern consensus process based on requirements from the American National Standards Institute, Conti said.
The Conti hose brands that received 3-A SSI certification including Extremeflex, EZ Glide Wine, Vintner Reserve, Drinkline, Grey Flexstra, Gray Food, White Flexwing and Harvest, according to Conti.
