FAIRLAWN, Ohio—Continental A.G.'s ContiTech business has unveiled a new hose for wineries and breweries in the North American market, one that boasts improved performance in chemical and temperature resistance, as well as fitting retention at elevated temperatures.
The Vinter Reserve 250 EPDM also has applications in the general beverage manufacturing industry, according to Conti.
"Cleaning conditions in the production end of the wine and brewery businesses are changing constantly," Laszlo Dobo, Continental product manager for industrial fluid solutions, said in a statement. "Thanks to the EPDM tube, this hose has a higher temperature and chemical resistance at cleaning. The EPDM tube has better fitting retention at elevated temperature.
"This ensures a safe working environment that is critical in any operation."
The Vintner 250 EPDM, the most recent addition to the Conti Vintner hose family, is named for its working pressure of 250 psi, Conti said. The hose also maintains a 4:1 safety factor and features enhanced abrasion and ozone resistance.
"We are using this opportunity to optimize our portfolio and make the naming more consistent," Laszlo said.
The new Vintner hose meets Food and Drug Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture regulations, according to Conti.
