WASHINGTON—The U.S. International Trade Commission next month will start a five-year review hearing into trade measures against certain imports of emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber (ESBR) into the U.S.
Scheduled for May 23, the sunset review proceedings will examine the need for continued duties on ESBR from Brazil, Mexico, Poland and South Korea.
In August 2017, the commission determined that the U.S. industry was materially injured by these imports as they were being sold at "less than fair value."
The U.S. Department of Commerce had previously ruled that producers from the four nations were dumping their products in the U.S. at margins ranging from 9.66 percent to 44.3 percent.
The ESBR suppliers involved included Korea's LG Chem Ltd. and Kumho Petrochemical Co. Ltd.; Poland's Synthos S.A.; Arlanxeo Brasil S.A.; and Mexico's Negromex S.A. de C.V. – Planta Altamira.
