MELKSHAM, England—Avon Rubber has formally changed its trading name of more than 130 years, according to a filing at U.K. Companies House.
As per a certificate issued at the U.K.'s registry of businesses, the company's name formally changed to Avon Protection P.L.C. on July 12.
The Melksham-based rubber-based products manufacturer had operated under the Avon Rubber banner since its founding on Dec. 23, 1890.
CEO Paul McDonald signaled the move in May, saying the new name would reflect the shift in focus of the group's portfolio over recent years.
Having once manufactured a wide range of rubber products, Avon now specializes in personal protection equipment, particularly for military, defense and emergency-service applications.
