Rubber Division honors key members at IEC Awards Breakfast

The ACS Rubber Division hosted the Awards Breakfast on Oct. 7 during the 2021 International Elastomer Conference. Eduardo Periera received recognition as a Service Award winner with the Certificate of Appreciation during the International Elastomers Conference Awards Breakfast. He is a member of the Rubber Division Executive Committee.

Joseph Walker, past division chair, earned the Distinguished Service Award during the 2021 International Elastomers Conference's Awards Breakfast on Oct. 7.

Joseph Walker, past Rubber Division chair and recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, gave his remarks upon receiving recognition. Walker said he's always worked to be "somebody I needed when I started." He was met with a standing ovation.

Christopher Robertson (left), editor-in-chief of Rubber Chemistry & Technology, presents the 2020 Publication Excellence Award to Lewis B. Tunnicliffe (right). Tunnicliffe accepted the award on behalf of his co-authors Kimberly Nelson, Shaobo Pan, John Curtis and Charles R. Herd for their article, "Reinforcement of Rubber by Carbon Black and Lignin-coated Nanocellulose Fibrils."

The Rubber Division recognized long-time ACS staff members during the Awards Breakfast. Lakisha Miller-Barclay presents Melanie Avdeyev with a 15-Year Service Award for her ACS Staff Anniversary.

Chuck Brady (left) earned his 10-Yea Service Award for his commitment as an ACS staff member of the Rubber Division. Lakisha Miller-Barclay presented him with the award.
