FORT WORTH, Texas—Tokai Carbon Co. Ltd. said it will increase its price per metric ton of carbon black products made in North America.
Starting July 15 or as customer contracts allow, the Japanese company will raise its prices $150 per metric ton.
Tokai said the increase allows the company to continue investing in projects that "sustain and improve mechanical reliability" and will cover rising operational and raw material costs. The price increase also helps cover higher costs from ongoing Consent Decree projects.
