RAVENNA, Ohio—Ace Products & Consulting has reported a year of record growth for its laboratory operations despite the global pandemic and economic recession.
Founded in 2015, the US company's ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory provides testing and developmental services to the rubber and silicone industries.
Since moving into its current Ravenna location in early 2018, the company has been on a rapid growth track that has continued through 2020 with record revenues.
Ace made it through the pandemic-filled year without any staffing, work hour, pay or benefit reductions, President and CEO Erick Sharp said.
"We are thankful we could take care of our staff during this crazy year," he said.
Deemed an essential business, Ace stayed operational during the Ohio shutdown period to serve its clients in critical industries, which include the medical and pharmAceutical fields.
Last August, the acquisition of GEOAnalytical—a provider of analytical services to the environmental and pharmaceutical industries—allowed Ace to expand its analytical testing capabilities and diversify into new areas.
The GEO operation was relocated to Ace's facility and included several gas chromatograph and mass spectrometry units and an inductive couple plasma facility.
With these new capabilities, Ace has expanded upon the regulatory testing it provides to the polymer industry. This includes nitrosamine, phthalate and trace metal analysis for customers looking to comply with various U.S. regulations.
Ace recently appointed Rubber Heart as its international marketing and sales partner to expand its reach throughout Europe and into Asia.
December 2020 was the highest-revenue month in the history of the company.
Sharp expressed appreciation for what Ace was able to accomplish in 2020.
"We were able to set new records, successfully complete an acquisition and increase our capabilities by over 50 percent," Sharp said." I am excited to see what 2021 brings."
