ROME, Ga.—Pirelli Tire North America L.L.C. will increase the prices of replacement car and light truck tires in the U.S., beginning Jan. 1.
Pirelli did not cite a percentage increase, stating that increases will vary by line and tire size.
The tire maker said the price increases were the result of "changing market conditions." Members of its sales team will contact customers to provide more detailed information about the changes.
This will be Pirelli's second price increase in the past nine months. It raised car and light truck tire prices in the U.S. on April 6 by up to 5 percent, varying by line and tire size.
At least five other tire makers have instituted or announced price hikes in the last couple of months.
Bridgestone Americas Corp. is planning to raise prices Jan. 1 on select Bridgestone and Firestone passenger and light truck replacement tires sold in the U.S. and Canada.
Other companies to disclose recent price increases include Goodyear, Sumitomo Rubber North America, Hankook Tire USA Inc. and Yokohama Tire Corp.
