NIZHNEKAMSK, Tatarstan—PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" (NKNH) has reported a 2.2 percent year-on-year decline in annual net profit to $335 million on 7.8 percent lower sales of $2.45 billion.
The Russian rubber and specialty chemicals supplier manufactured 2.5 million metric tons of products in 2019, of which 680,000 tons were rubber products, the company announced July 7.
In 2019, NKNH said it invested more than $635 million in the improvement of existing facilities, modernization, technical re-equipment and reconstruction, as well as additional units for new products.
One priority area, it said, was to expand the production of elastomers at its scientific and technological center.
NKNH said it developed new brands of butadiene and styrene-butadiene rubbers, thermoplastic elastomers and polybutadiene rubbers intended for the manufacture of high-performance tires as well as for road and roofing.
The Russian supplier said it also invested $42.3 million in the large-scale reconstruction of its biological wastewater treatment plants to improve its environmental footprint.
