PARIS—French parts manufacturer Hutchinson S.A. is acquiring a 60 percent stake in Thermal Control Systems Automotive (TCFR), from German automotive supplier Mann+Hummel.
Based in Laval, western France, TCFR specializes in thermal management and battery cooling technologies, Hutchinson explained in a May 27 email.
Hutchinson expects the acquisition to enable a "global system offer" for fluid management and to reinforce its position in CO2 reduction technologies.
The Paris-based rubber product major said it will contribute its expertise in the automotive market and skills in "fluid management" to the joint venture.
The acquisition, terms of which were not disclosed, is subject to clearance from relevant authorities in France.
