MUMBAI, India—Birla Carbon will raise the prices of all products manufactured in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region by $118 per metric ton, effective June 1.
All shipments made on or after this date are subject to the price increase, Birla said May 21.
The carbon black producer said the increase was necessary in order to cover additional costs, including in freights, logistics and overall operations.
In addition, the price hike will contribute to investments in improving operations and the quality of products, Birla added.
The Mumbai-based supplier said it is also studying "the ideal ways" to address the increasing CO2 emission costs and will be announcing further measures soon.
