TOKYO—Continuing a run of investment moves in the tire industry this month, Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. said it will expand its mold-production operation in Rayong, Thailand.
The project at Thailand Yokohama Mold (Thailand) Co. Ltd. is intended to enhance the group's supply-chain in the ASEAN region, Yokohama said Feb. 12.
Construction of the new facilities began in January 2021, with completion planned for the end of this year, according to the Japanese tire maker.
The project is backed by financial support from a Japan External Trade Organization program to strengthen overseas supply chains and promote cooperation between Japan and other ASEAN countries.
