XINXIANG, Henan—Xinxiang Chemical Fiber plans to add 30,000 metric tons per year of superfine PU elastane fiber capacity at its existing site in Xinxiang.
Work on the facility, located in the Xinxiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2021, according to the company. It should be completed within the next 18 months.
Xinxiang Chemical Fiber is investing $156 million in the expansion. It is projected to generate $28.3 million in profit annually on sales of $169 million.
The facility will employ 120 head-spinning channels with twin winders able to work 40 yarn cakes. Packing and warehousing will be fully automated.
This is the second phase of the company's three-phase project to add annual capacity of 100,000 tons of superfine PU elastane fiber capacity, its board secretary Xiao Shubin told UTECH-polyurethane.com.
Construction recently wrapped up on Phase one—30,000 tons of annual capacity—and equipment installation has started, Xiao said.
Xinxiang Chemical Fiber currently has 120,000 tons of annual capacity for PU elastane, he said.
