HOUSTON—TSRC, a Taiwanese company that specializes in styrenic block copolymer and synthetic rubber materials, has opened a research and development center just outside Houston.
The global center, constructed at TSRC subsidiary TSRC Specialty Materials L.L.C. in Katy, Texas, will look to develop specialty SBC through innovative polymer design, manufacturing processes and application development.
"Establishing a global R&D center in Houston, Texas, is a strategic positioning for TSRC, which aims to enhance our innovation capabilities and global footprint to better support our global customers in the U.S. and EU markets and accelerate our growth in specialty polymers," said Qiwei Lu, vice president of global research and development at TSRC.
The Katy center is the second such international R&D facility for TSRC, with the other in TSRC's home country of Taiwan. The Texas facility will target materials and solutions for customers in the medical, hygiene, adhesives, films, construction and elastic nonwovens industries.
