LEXINGTON, Ky.—Bedding maker Tempur Sealy International Inc. has picked Crawfordsville, Ind., as the site of its third domestic foam-pouring plant.
Construction of the 70,000-sq.-ft. plant will begin in the third quarter of 2021, the Lexington-based company said. The 130-acre site has space for expansions of up to 1 million square feet, the company said in a news release.
Tempur Sealy says it will be its largest manufacturing facility globally. Production will begin in 2023 and the company says it will employ 300.
"This underpins our commitment to expanding our global manufacturing footprint to fulfill projected long-term demand," Chairman and CEO Scott Thompson said.
The site will support production for branded and non-branded products including those sold under the Tempur-Pedic, Sealy and Stearns & Foster names.
