Semperit finishes expansion of Polish mixing site

VIENNA—Semperit A.G. Holding invested about $19.4 million in its mixing site in Belchatow, Poland, during the last three years, completing its most recent expansion project.

The location, with five mixing lines, and a capacity of 30,000 metric tons of rubber compound per year, will be the largest mixing site in the group, according to a Semperit news release.

The mixing capacity at the location has been increased by a total of 67 percent.
Producing rubber compounds in-house provides quality control throughout the process.

It also leads to annual cost advantages in the high six-digit range, Semperit said. It is evaluating its supply of rubber compounds to third parties.

Semperit’s European mixing operations are in Wimpassing, Austria; Odry, Czech Republic; Hueckelhoven, Germany; and Belchatow. The Polish site also supplies rubber compounds to Semperform Profiles in Deggendorf, Germany, for use in window seals manufacturing.
