STOCKHOLM—Swedish waste tire pyrolysis company Scandinavian Enviro Systems has been granted an environmental permit for the construction of its planned recycling plant in Uddevalla, Sweden.
As previously announced, Enviro aims to build a waste tire pyrolysis plant in the Lillesjoe district of Uddevalla to process up to 60,000 metric tons per annum (60 ktpa) of end-of-life tires, nearly half of Sweden's total annual ELT volume.
In a statement June 28, the company said it obtained the permit "swiftly" after submitting an application in November last year.
Enviro has not finalized the decision to establish the new plant, however, stating that the final decision will depend on several factors, such as securing access to ELTs and agreements covering deliveries of recovered materials.
