SPRING HILL, Tenn.—Ralson Tire North America Inc. has added two warehouses in the U.S., both to be operated by Harbor Freight Transportation Co.
One warehouse, which is 175,000 square feet, is located near Newark, N.J., while the other, which measures approximately 240,000 square feet, is near Savannah, Ga. Both are adjacent to major shipping ports, according to the company.
Ralson, a subsidiary of Indore, India-based Ralson India Ltd., said it is planning to establish several more distribution warehouses across the U.S. in the coming years.
"This strategic investment will significantly improve our supply chain efficiency, reduce inventory costs for our customers and provide more timely deliveries to our distribution partners," Brian Sheehey, senior vice president of Ralson Tire North America, said.
Sheehey called family-operated Harbor Freight Transportation, founded in 1947, an ideal logistics partner because of its full turn-key services, including handling inbound and outbound freight. The East Coast distribution experts are operated by Steve Liberti, president and owner, and his son, Stephen Liberti Jr., who Ralson said have expanded operations from a container freight station and export-boxing company to the specialized handling of cargo along the East Coast.
Ralson manufacturers and distributes truck/bus radial tires in the U.S.
"As a fourth-generation family-owned business, we're thrilled to be partnering with Ralson, also a fourth-generation family business," Liberti Jr. said. "Ralson has a strong commitment to the U.S. market, and we look forward to helping them achieve their business goals here."
