MADISON, Wis.—Nolato Contour Inc., a precision plastic and silicone injection molding company, is expanding its facility in Baldwin.
The $5 million project is expected to create 75 jobs over the next three years. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is authorizing up to $225,000 in state income tax credits over the next three years. The actual amount of tax credits Nolato Contour will receive is contingent upon the number of jobs created and the amount of capital investment during that period.
"In addition to the jobs created by this project, this expansion will allow Nolato Contour to take advantage of a growing market and increased demand for its services," said Missy Hughes, secretary and CEO of WEDC. "This project marks the latest example of companies choosing to establish or expand operations in Wisconsin because of our positive business climate and dedicated work force."
Nolato Contour is planning a 60,000-sq.-ft. expansion of warehousing and production support for expanded medical product needs. This expansion will support the production of diagnostic products and vaccine/drug manufacturing components. Nolato Contour produces and supplies plastic components and finished medical devices to major medical and pharmaceutical companies in the U.S.
"We appreciate the investment in Baldwin, and the bar has been sufficiently raised for bigger and better things," said William Rubin, executive director of the St. Croix Economic Development Corp., which recently named Nolato the 2020 Business of the Year in St. Croix. County.
Nolato has had two prior expansions of its current facility, including 43,000-sq.-ft. and 27,000-sq.-ft. additions with added clean rooms, manufacturing room and warehouse space.
The company began as Contour Plastics in Hammond, with a goal to serve technically demanding customers. In 1993, Contour Plastics built and moved to a new facility in Baldwin. In 2010, Contour Plastics was purchased by Nolato, a Swedish company that has facilities throughout Europe.
