DAYTON, Tenn.—Nokian Tyres P.L.C. has begun hiring around 125 workers to serve in various jobs at its North American factory in Dayton, where production is being ramped up in the wake of Nokian's decision to divest its Russian factory.
Nokain Tyres said the majority of the hiring will occur in March through May.
The move comes as Nokian pushes to double production at its Dayton plan, especially after selling its Russian facility late last year after the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The tire maker is adding jobs in four areas: quality; maintenance; logistic and information technology. The starting pay for production operation positions ranges from $17 an hour to $21 per hour.
