BUTLER, Wis.—Medical device manufacturer MRPC, which works in silicone and plastics molding in its production of medical instruments and disposables, will add 2,200 square feet to its Largo, Fla., facility.
The expansion is part of the company's remodel of its Southeast Division, according to MRPC.
"We had been analyzing the manufacturing process at the Largo facility for several months, with the intention of a remodel," said Carl Lider, chief operating officer at MRPC. "This analysis enabled us to identify bottlenecks and determine ways to remove them, while optimizing the flow of the manufacturing area."
Using lean manufacturing principles, MRPC historically has looked to enhance operational flow through the manufacturing, molding and finished device processes, enabling faster time-to-market for customers.
