LINCOLN, Neb.—Since Monolith entered the American Heartland in 2018, the clean carbon black and hydrogen production company has grown in and around the state capital.
Most recently, Monolith and Nebraska government officials conducted a ribbon-cutting May 23 to celebrate the expansion of Monolith's headquarters in Lincoln.
"Manufacturing and agriculture serve as the backbone of Nebraska's economy, putting Nebraskans to work and enriching our communities," said Gov. Jim Pillen, present for the May 23 celebration. "Monolith is an incredible example of Nebraska's ability to drive innovation and job creation in both sectors. We will continue to work so our state remains the best place to grow a business, raise a family, and live in a safe neighborhood. Congratulations to the entire Monolith team for their success."
The expansion is the result of sales growth for Monolith, the only company producing CB commercially via methane pyrolysis, using electricity to crack natural gas rather than a furnace to break down petroleum and crude oil (or tire pyrolysis to break down end-of-life tires).
Monolith's new office is at 600 P Street in Lincoln's Historic Haymarket District. The new facility joins the Monolith Technical Center, a state-of-the-art rubber laboratory on West L Street, and a 25,000-sq.-ft. warehouse in South Lincoln.
In nearby Hallam, Monolith operates the patented methane pyrolysis facility, Olive Creek 1, along with an office on Main Street.
"Monolith's expansion of their global headquarters here in Lincoln highlights our community's growing reputation as a hub for innovation and sustainable development," said Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird. "We are proud that Monolith is growing the great life in Lincoln by driving economic growth and pioneering advancements in clean technology. Congratulations to the Monolith team on this significant milestone."
