LEBANON, Ind.—Maxxis International–USA is planning to open a 350,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in August in Lebanon, about 25 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
The new facility—Maxxis' fourth warehouse in the U.S.—is located near I-65, and is less than five hours' drive from all the vehicle assembly plants in the Midwest, a characteristic that ties into the firm's plans to expand business in the original equipment sector.
Maxxis USA, the Suwanee, Ga.-based subsidiary of Taiwan-based Maxxis International, also operates distribution centers in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Grapevine, Texas, and at its corporate headquarters in Suwanee. The company offers automotive, light truck, specialty trailer, bicycle, motorcycle and ATV tires for both OE and aftermarket customers.
The new facility, in the Whitestown corporate industrial park, southeast of Lebanon, will incorporate 10,000 square feet of office space and two 2,500-sq.-ft. administrative warehouse offices, Maxxis said."Indiana was an appealing choice for our new facility due to this state's excellent transportation infrastructure, friendly business environment, and proximity to major auto makers," Maxxis International – USA President James Tzen said. "Whitestown is a rapidly growing area, with easy access to both major interstates and rail. This is an exciting time to locate a facility here, and we look forward to becoming a part of this community."
